Early life
Geir Lolleng was in his youth and early adult life active in the Norwegian Conservative Party (Høyre). He was for 7 years member of the Asker County Council (kommunestyret) and for 3 years member of the executive board (formannskapet) and had a number of positions on County level the county as well as Regional fylkeslevel in the Party. He studied law at the Lawlegal department of the University of Oslo and graduated with a full legal degree in 1981. He has also attended high level courses on management at business schools as Stanford Business School.
Career
Geir Lolleng worked for the Norwegian Employer Confederation (Norsk Arbeidsgiverforening) and its member Association for the Oil Companies (upstream) from 1982 – 86. Before he left he was an Associate Director in the Association for the Oil Companies. Lolleng was an associate Judge at Sandnes City Court for approx. one year.
Geir Lolleng worked as a lawyer in a number of reputable law firms in Oslo. From 1990 as a partner. He was Managing Partner in the law firm Steenstrup Stordrange when he left the legal professionbusiness in 2003. He hasd together with a colleague written the book “Internasjonal Arbeidsrett” (International Employment Law). He worked during his legal career for a number of companies like Marubeni, Mitsui Corp, Telenor, BP, Adecco, the European Union, Visa Int. and Time Warner. He received high regard from organisations evaluating law firms and lawyers like “Law firms in Europe”, London. After leaving his legal career Lolleng has worked was as an entrepreneurrial to create and build new companies. This work has included establishment and building a number of companies partly as a main initiator and partly as an outside advisor. Some projects have been extraordinarily successful while others have failed. Today Lolleng is working partly as initiator and advisor to a number of start-ups. His focus is on projects that have a high exposure to the emerging markets especially in Asia.
